Autumn wedding photography at Askham hall
Wedding photography at Askham hall in the autumn
What a glorious venue Askham hall is especially on a beautiful autumn day like Rob & Charlie had. If you are planning an autumnal wedding then this is what you’re expecting gorgeous orange foliage, crisp blue skies and the most glorious golden hour. Surrounded by beautiful grounds and viewpoints this is the Lake District venue to deliver on beautiful surroundings for an autumnal wedding.
Charlie & Rob started their day with a super chilled prep surrounded by their closest friends and family. With a timeline planned to perfection Charlie had plenty of time to get dressed and have time to do a dress reveal with her bridesmaids and dad before having a drink ahead of making their way to the church. Originally the plan was for Charlie and Rob to head back to Askham hall from the church in Rob’s dads vintage car, unfortunately on the day the car didn't want to start however I think this was meant to be as the new plan meant Charlie and Rob leading the procession from the church back to Askham hall through the gardens. It was such a special moment and meant everyone was able to take in the beautiful autumn colours of the grounds together in the newly married excitement.
Once we arrived back at Askham hall Charlie and Rob were showered with confetti before taking time to greet their guests, have a few family group shots, eat canapés and listen to their wonderful wedding singer. Before they headed into the meal we snuck away for some photos in the grounds. No matter the season the gardens and views at Askham hall are breathtaking but I would be lying if I didn’t say the autumn colours and golden light made them look extra special.
Despite getting married on Halloween Charlie was very clear this was not a halloween themed wedding so as an extra surprise for guests they entered the wedding breakfast to the ghostbusters theme and honestly it was amazing! There was so much energy and laughter in the room and it was one of my favourite parts of the day.
After some heartfelt and hilarious speeches pre wedding breakfast in the barn all there guests headed down to the cafe bar for coffee and baileys while the band set up ready to play the dance floor of dreams. A couple of years ago I photographed best man Ben and wife Charlotte’s wedding who also had a very full and fun dancefllor so I had an inkling that the dance floor would be good and it did not dissapoint.
Here’s a few favourites from Charlie and Rob’s autumnal wedding at Askham hall….
